Licensing & Activation¶
Octo Transform Sync is a one-time perpetual licence. One licence covers Harmony, Blender, and Maya on your machine — you activate once, and it works everywhere.
The trial¶
Your first launch starts a 30-day free trial — the full tool, no restrictions, no feature gates.
A banner at the bottom of the window counts it down: amber for most of the trial, red in the final three days. Activate opens the activation dialog; Dismiss hides the banner for that session.
Activating¶
Open the activation dialog — it appears automatically when the trial expires, or from Help (?) → Manage License…:
- Paste your licence key.
- Click Activate.
- Done — the licence is bound to this machine.
The dialog shows your current status, your Machine ID (useful for support), and a Buy License link.
Activate once, covered everywhere
OTS stores the licence in a shared, application-neutral folder, so activating in Harmony also covers Blender and Maya on the same computer. You don't burn three activation slots for one machine.
Offline use¶
Once activated, OTS works offline — it only re-checks the licence with the server periodically. If you're offline at re-check time, it keeps working until the next time you're online.
Machine binding¶
A licence is bound to a machine fingerprint — a hash of the machine and user. If the fingerprint stops matching, for instance because the licence file was copied to another computer, that copy won't validate. Activate properly on each machine instead.
Moving to another machine¶
Deactivate to free the activation slot before moving, then activate on the new machine. If the server can't be reached, your local licence still clears, so you're never stuck on a dead machine.
Studio / multi-seat
For a studio, use one key per artist, or a single key with an activation limit covering several machines. Keys can be disabled or given an expiry from the store — handy for temporary or comped seats.
Buying¶
Licences are sold through the Octo Tools pricing page.
