Recover your licence

Lost the machine your licence was activated on — a dead drive, a reinstall, a computer you no longer have? Release it here and activate again somewhere else.

You will need the licence key and the e-mail address you bought it with. We send a code to that address to make sure it is you: without it, anyone holding your key could sign you out of your own machine.

What this does, exactly

It marks the old machine's activation as released on our licence server. Nothing is installed, uninstalled or changed on any computer — the old machine simply stops counting against your licence.

Limit: two recoveries per licence every 90 days. That is enough for a dead drive and a machine swap, and not enough to quietly run one licence across a whole studio. If you hit the limit and have a good reason, write to [email protected] — a person reads it.

Studio licences (one key, several machines) are not released automatically: freeing them all would sign out everyone on your team. Write to us and tell us which machine to free.

Every recovery is e-mailed to the licence owner. If you get one of those and it was not you, reply immediately — it means someone has both your key and access to your mailbox.
