Licensing & Activation¶
Octo Vector Bridge is a one-time perpetual licence. One licence covers Blender, Maya, and Harmony on your machine — you activate once, and it works everywhere.
The trial¶
Your first launch starts a 14-day free trial — the full tool, no restrictions. When it ends, activate a licence to keep going.
Activating¶
Open the activation dialog (it appears automatically when the trial expires, or from the About/licence entry):
- Paste your licence key.
- Click Activate.
- Done — the licence is bound to this machine.
The dialog also shows your Machine ID (useful for support) and a Buy a licence link.
Activate once, covered everywhere
OVB stores the licence in a shared, DCC-neutral folder, so activating in Harmony also covers Blender and Maya on the same computer. You don't burn three activation slots for one machine.
Deactivating / moving machines¶
Deactivate in the dialog to free the activation slot before moving to another computer, then activate there. If the server can't be reached, your local licence still clears so you're never stuck.
Offline use¶
Once activated, OVB works offline — it only re-checks the licence with the server periodically. If you're offline at re-check time, it keeps working until the next time you're online.
Studio / multi-seat
For a studio, use one key per artist (fine-grained) or a single key with an activation limit for several machines. A key can be disabled or given an expiry from the store — handy for temporary/comped seats.
Machine binding¶
A licence is bound to a machine fingerprint (a hash of the machine + user). If the fingerprint stops matching (e.g. the licence file was copied to another machine), that copy won't validate — activate properly on each machine instead.
